There are few things more exciting than high end shopping at reduced prices, and that is exactly what you’ll find at Malaga’s Designer Outlet. The opening of the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet on the outskirt of Malaga in February 2020 was an exciting and highly anticipated event for the region. It is the first designer outlet mall in Andalucia, and McArthurGlen’s only offering outside of the UK: what’s more, the sympathetic architecture means that it looks as good as it sounds! If you’re a fashion addict or a label lover hoping to buy designer goods on a budget then the Malaga designer outlet is the perfect place for you.
With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about the outlet mall, including the shopping experiences you’ll find available there:
What You’ll Find At the Malaga Designer Outlet Village
When it first opened, the outlet village offered just 38 stores, but there are plans for an additional 62 stores to open in the coming months, meaning that the village should offer a very respectable 100 stores in total. It also offers 4 cafes and restaurants (providing all-important shopping fuel) and other facilities such as a children’s play area, free Wifi, and over 1,500 free parking spaces which will make it easy and convenient to visit the village, even at the busiest period.
The village covers 30,000 square metres and is an extension of the long-established Plaza Mayor shopping center. You’ll find it right next to MA-20 and MA-21 motorways, making it easy to access. The village opens Monday to Saturday between 10am and 10pm.

A Sophisticated Shopping Experience
The Malaga Designer Outlet village is much more than an ugly old-fashioned mall – it has been styled to look like a traditional Mediterranean village, making it an attractive place to shop, and one were people will actually want to be. You’ll find colourful squares, ample seating around and between the stores, and open air shopping alleys where you can enjoy the sunshine and make the most of the year-round Mediterranean climate. With the climate in mind though, the outlet also features a host of colourful umbrellas and parasols overhead, designed not only to provide an artistic feature and focal point, but also to offer some protection from the sun. All in all, the shopping village feels like the kind of place you want to spend time, rather than just somewhere you go to bag a bargain or two.
A Note About Prices
On the subject on bargains, it’s likely you’re wondering what kind of prices and discounts you’ll find when you visit the Malaga Designer Outlet. Many stores advertise discounts of up to 70 percent year-round, but when there are special offers or if you have a gift voucher or store-specific discount code, you may find that some products are discounted by even more (though some will certainly be discounted by much less too). Look out for the promotions page of the official Malaga Designer Outlet website to see which stores are running special offers.
Despite this, the stores all maintain their high-end feel, with the goods attractively displayed, so you won’t feel that you are in a discount store, nor will you have to rummage through rails in order to find a bargain.
