Explore Tropical Rainforest In Spain And Visit BioParc Fuengirola

Tropical rainforests in Spain? You’re right to be confused because there is no natural rainforest on mainland Spain. But from October you will be able to explore rainforest environments in the country, and all without leaving the Costa Del Sol!

BioParc Fuengirola is a new attraction in the region, and to encourage local peoples to explore the attraction and learn more about it, they are offering 25% off to Andalusia residents this month.

Here’s what you need to know:

Why Visit BioParc Fuengirola?

BioParc Fuengirola offers a tropical rainforest experience in the heart of mainland Spain. Rainforests are vital environments that our planet depends on and they cover more than 15% of the earth’s surface.

Rainforests are diverse and highly productive ecosystems. They boast huge biodiversity and a beautiful array of flora and fauna, and well as an abundance of wildlife that spotting is on many people’s bucket lists.

But rainforests also tend to be based in remote, hard to reach destinations, which means many families have never visited one. In fact, most people will never visit a rainforest in their lifetime. But now thanks to BioParc Fuengirola, you can visit a rainforest with ease.

What Attractions Can You See In BioParc Fuengirola?

When you enter BioParc Fuengirola you would be forgiven for thinking that you had entered a tropical rain forest. That is the immediate atmosphere created here.

As the name suggests, the park is located in Fuengirola, in the heart of the Costa Del Sol. And you can see everything you would expect to find in the world’s most famous jungles.

In terms of wildlife, you will have to opportunity to see animals such as lowland gorillas, Bornean orangutans, Madagascan lemurs, Sumatran tigers, Sri Lankan leopards, Galapagos giant tortoises and Komodo dragons. These are the ‘stand out’ animals in the rainforest simulation, but there are also lesser known animals calling BioParc Fuengirola home. Golden-cheeked gibbons, Malayan tapirs, pygmy hippos, emperor tamarins, arapaimas and giant otters, all live in the BioParc Fuengirola too.

The areas represented in BioPak include Madagascar, equatorial Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indo-Pacific islands. A new area has recently been added dedicated to Central and South America too. You can enjoy the plant life and ecosystem of each of these unique rainforests in one day. That makes this a once in a lifetime experience and something that is unique to BioParc. There’s nothing else like it in Spain.

Heaven For Nature Lovers

BioParc Fuengirola appeals to visitors of all ages. There are attractions to appeal to adults, children, and families alike. You can spend time observing over 300 animal species, most of which are endangered in their native jungles and are part of conservation programmes. The park also features over a hundred different plants native to tropical and subtropical rainforests from around the world.

For younger visitors there is a kids play area. There are also regular events to appeal to animal lovers and conservationists. There are endless learning opportunities here, with parts of the park having a museum like approach, whilst you’re still free to wander at your own pace, and explore just as you would a ‘real’ rainforest.
