Spain has thriving music and concert scene, and this is particularly true of the Costa del Sol. People travel not only from across the country but also from across Europe to enjoy the music festivals and party atmosphere in the region.

During the summer months the Costa del Sol boasts the perfect climate for outdoor concerts and festivals. Warm days and balmy nights are perfect for partying. Add in the plentiful accommodation options and the proximity of Malaga international airport and it’s easy to see why concerts and music festivals are so popular here.

Here is a comprehensive list of all the concerts and music festivals you need to know about that are taking place in the Costa del Sol this year:

Marenostrum Fuengirola

This event was first launched in 2016 and has grown to become one of Spain’s premier music festivals. It has hosted stars such as Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez who chose it as the only stop on her European tour. This festival lasts from May until September with different guest stars throughout the months.

Starlight Marbella

This beautiful boutique festival is hostest over 50 days between July and September in the Cantera de Nagüeles, a natural amphitheatre. You’ll come for the music but you’ll stay for the  breath-taking scenery.

Confirmed artists for 2024 so far include Jamie Cullum, Sheryl Crow, Aitana, Camilo, Vanessa Martin, Myke Towers, Take That, Simple Minds, Miguel Poveda and UB40 among others are already confirmed. Artists and audiences are uniquely close in this special venue.

 Nerja Cave Music Festival

You can take a guided tour around the beautiful underground complex of the Nerja caves at any time of year. But in the summer they host a classical music and dance festival. Only a few performances are inside the caves for conservation reasons. The rest are in its gardens.

Brunch Electronic

This is one festival that takes place across 2 seasons, and it is the biggest electronic music festival in the region.

The events take place on Saturdays at the Auditorio Municipal Cortijo de Torres.The spring dates will be 2, 20 and 27 April and 4 and 11 May. Dates will also be released for the Autumn sessions with more then 40 artists already confirmed to perform.

Selvatic Fest Málaga

Looking for a lively and authentically Spanish summer festival? Between June and September the old Drive-In Cinema in Malaga will be transformed into a festival venue. It will welcome 30 performances in a variety of music styles including flamenco soul, urban rap, hip hop, reggaeton and many more.

Híbrida Festival Málaga

Another electronic music festival, this one will fuse hardtechno and breakbeat genres with traditional electronic sounds. This will also use the old Drive-In cinema as its venue and will run for 12 full hours from 6pm to 6am on 16th March.

Brisa Festival Malaga

This fun 3 day festival is organised in collaboration with the Red Cross. It will take place from 25-27 July in the port of Malaga at the Dique de Levante venue. More than 30 artists have already been scheduled to play, and you can find a Programme & Tickets here.

Oh, See! Málaga

This is a fun, family friendly festival with a unique format. Taking place on 24^th and 25^th May you will find over 20 hours of music but no performances will overlap giving every one of the 7,000 attendees the chance to see every artist.

Not interested in the artist performing? No worries, there will be parallel activities taking place designed to appeal to everyone. This includes a gastro zone, creative workshops for kids and a club arena where you can dance like noone’s watching.

Weekend Beach Torre del Mar

This is the 9^th year this popular weekend festival is taking place. This year it will be hosted from 4th to 6th July. A robust line up of DJs, national, and international artists has already been announced. And Europe will be celebrating their 40th anniversary at the festival.

Oasisss Marbella

Oasisss Marbella is an umbrella term for a host of concerts and festivals that will be hosted in Marbella this year. That includes the Bella Festival, Love the 90s Festival, and a sought-after performance from Marc Anthony.

Reggaeton Beach Festival Marbella

Some of the world’s best Reggaeton artists will gather in Marbella for this festival designed specifically for Reggaeton lovers. This event will take place over 2 days on 6 and 7 July. As well as incredible music there will also be water attractions, food trucks, shishas and more surprises.

Puro Latino Fest Torremolinos

This is another fantastic festival for Reggaeton fans. Taking place in Torremolinos on 19^th and 20^th July this mini music festival will be hosted on the esplanade of the Torremolinos Fairgrounds. It will feature artists from the world of raggaeton, trap, hip hop and Latin music.

Canela Party Torremolinos

This is a 3 day dance festival taking place from 21^st –24^th August. This was once a very small festival but now it’s one of the most popular alternative music festivals in the region. If you like to dance then this is the festival for you.

Ojeando Festival

This is officially the most iconic indie music festival in Andalusia. It takes place in the small village of Ojén, which is a few kilometres from Marbella and attracts visitors from around the world. You’ll find 5 stages, over 30 performers, and thousands of music fans spread across this beautiful white washed village.

Galaxy Sound Malaga

This is a brand news festival and will come to Malaga for the first time this year. It will take place across 3 days from 16-18 May t the Auditorio Municipal Cortijo de Torres.

The full line up hasn’t been announced yet but artists confirmed so far include Crystal Fighters, Les Castizos, JavyPablo, Sen Senra, Arde Bogotá, Rufus T. Firefly, Sienna, Sarria, We Are Not Dj’s, and Carmesí.

BIGSOUND Festival Malaga

Another new music festival is coming to Malaga on 19^th and 20^th July. BIGSOUND is a name you might already know as it has been running successfully in Valencia for years but it is coming to Malaga for the first time. An urban music festival, artists confirmed so far include Jhayco, Henry Mendez, Cali y El Dandee and Ptazeta in the Auditorio Cortijo de Torres.

Locos por la Música Festival Fuengirola

Mad about 80s and 90s pop music? Then this is the option for you! Locos por la Música returns to Marenostrum Fuengirola to celebrate a new edition of a festival dedicated to the greatest hits of the best Spanish pop and rock groups of the 80s and 90s.This is a one day event on 20th July.
